ERA IYAYI

Citiliving was founded by Era Iyayi, an entrepreneur and business consultant who has spent over a decade helping companies grow, structure, and thrive.

Era’s journey into real estate began with a simple but urgent question after his experience investing in a personal property: “Why is it easier to buy an investment property in Dubai than it is in Nigeria? ”

The turning point came when one of his team members, after receiving a housing loan, spent eight long months searching and still couldn’t find a suitable place to live. That experience exposed a deeper truth that Nigeria’s rental housing system was broken.

Through his years of advising businesses and navigating his own housing challenges, Era discovered a systemic gap:

  • Investors were losing money on unstructured developments.
  • Landowners struggled to unlock the real value of their property.
  • Renters were trapped in a cycle of stress, hidden costs, and disappointment.

This frustration became a mission. In 2024, Era launched Citiliving to bring structure, technology, and trust to Nigeria’s chaotic rental housing market. The vision is clear: to rebuild our city centers into thriving neighbourhoods of investable + liveable homes.

Since launching, Era has led the Citiliving team through an exciting early growth phase:

  • Kicked off our first development in Maryland, Lagos
  • Progressing towards finalizing financing for the next 100 units
  • Laying the foundation for a growing ecosystem where landowners, investors, and renters can thrive together
